I was in no way surprised by the critical role that high-recognition work environments play in creating and sustaining active employee engagement.
Nor was I suprised by the critical role that high engagement leadership plays in both engagement and retention.
What did surprise me? That in 42% of organizations, low performers are actually more engaged than high performers:
